HOW TO CHANGE WALLPAPER ON iPHONE

There are a number of options to choose. On iPhone, choose an image or photo as wallpaper for the Lock screen or Home screen.

Open Settings on your iPhone

Go to Settings, tap Wallpaper, then tap Choose a New Wallpaper. (Go to Settings  > Wallpaper > Choose a New Wallpaper).

Choose an image

Do one of the following:

  • Choose a preset image from a group at the top of the screen (Dynamic, Stills, Live, or one of your photos).
  • Select one of your own photos (tap an album, then tap the photo).
  • To choose a Live wallpaper or a Live Photo, you need an iPhone 6s or later.
  • The default wallpapers change with each iOS update.

Note:        iPhone XR and iPhone SE don’t support Live Wallpaper.

Move the image and choose a display option

  • Drag to move the image. Or pinch to zoom in and out, so the image fits the screen.
  • Some images might not move and scale.
  • You can choose Perspective, so the wallpaper moves as you tilt your screen.
  • Or you can choose Still, so the wallpaper doesn’t move.
  • The Perspective display option isn’t available when Reduce Motion is on or when Low Power Mode is on.
  • When you’re done adjusting the image, tap Set. Or tap Cancel to start over.

Set the wallpaper and choose where you want it to show up

  • Set wallpaper as your Home screen, Lock screen, or both.
  • The Home screen appears when your iPhone is unlocked.
  • The Lock screen appears when you wake your iPhone.
  • You can also turn on Dark Appearance so that your iPhone dims your wallpaper depending on your ambient light.
  • Go to Settings > Wallpaper, then select Dark Appearance Dims Wallpaper to turn it on.
  • To see your new wallpaper, lock your iPhone or check the Home screen.

Change the wallpaper

Tap Set, then choose one of the following:

  • Set Lock Screen
  • Set Home Screen
  • Set Both

Set a Live Photo as wallpaper for the Lock screen

When you set a Live Photo as wallpaper, touch and hold the Lock screen to play the Live Photo—on all iPhone models except iPhone SE (1st generation).

  • Go to Settings > Wallpaper > Choose a New Wallpaper.
  • Do one of the following:
    1. Tap Live, then choose a Live Photo.
    2. Tap your Live Photos album, then choose a Live Photo (you may need to wait for it to download).
  • Tap Set, then choose Set Lock Screen or Set Both.
